Group Therapy
 

In the Consulting of Psychology and Health Montse Valls Giner, also offer the possibility of group therapy. This type of therapy is specifically designed for people with some kind of harmful habits. The groups were organized to allow for the greatest possible homogeneity, as this will facilitate communication between members of this group. It may be also very suitable for people with eating disorders, but in this case will form an independent group, which included only people with this disorder. Another field of application of this therapy is mourning the loss of a loved one, for any reason (death, breakup, etc...)

The psychologist shall supervise and direct the sessions, where each patient stating the problems, progress and/or setbacks and submit to the opinion of others while you opine about the problems and situation of others.

This interaction between patients, causes each of them to live problems of the other, terminating to knowing the origin and circumstances of their own problems and the consequences of their harmful habits or disorder, comprising the social sphere.

Another added value in group therapy is that the cost for the patient is much smaller than the individual therapies and allow, with ease, making this therapy as support, sometimes for quite long periods, avoiding thus the potential relapse inherent in a short therapy.

Psychologist intervene in all cases where it is necessary, to score a certain way or take a spin on the path taken, when appropriate. It is important in this type of therapy, there is empathy between professional and patient and among patients themselves, that this is so, it is also the work of psychologist shall ensure that at all times for proper development in group living. These sessions will be held in a cozy space and trying as far as possible, to create the most relaxed and pleasant atmosphere as possible.

This type of therapy opens new horizons for people who had completely lost.

It may be useful to treat any of the following disorders:

  1. Harmful habits such as Drinking problems, tobacco, gambling, new technologies, compulsive shopping, etc.

  2. Eating disorders such as anorexia,    bulimia, etc.

  3. Mourning therapies loss of loved ones
